Winter Beauty Must-Haves

I love Winter- skiing, the snow, snow days- but the season can seriously damage your hair, and skin. Hair becomes unruly and dry, and your skin is stripped of moisture. I really amp up my routines during the colder months, it truly makes a difference. I swear by the products I've included below. What are you favorite Winter must-haves? Also, be sure to check out my favorite Resort picks to see what I'll be wearing when I escape the cold.

Hair
Josie Maran Argan Oil- I apply it to the ends of my hair to fix spilt ends
Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment- When used once a week, it adds moisture and treats damaged locks.
Bumble and bumble Super Rich Conditioner- My go-to conditioner. It keeps your hair silky and smooth.

Skin
Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter- Smells like heaven and your skin is soft after one use.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser- Great for sensitive skin.
Clinique All About Eyes Cream- The best eye cream ever.

Makeup
Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm- I use it everyday. Very light, but still gives your skin a healthy glow.
Smashbox Love Me Blush - I also use this blush everyday. The perfect amount of pink to your cheeks.
Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment - Keeps your lips moisturized. Apply tons at night, to wake up with smooth lips.

Sailing With... Jacquelyn from Lark & Linen

Today, I am featuring one of my favorite blogs, lark & linen. If you have not heard of Jacquelyn before, please stop reading this and go to her blog asap! She lives Toronto, where she works in the interior design world. Her simple, yet detailed aesthetic is what I believes hooks readers (like me).  She also includes delicious food recipes. The most recent recipe on Blueberry Breakfast Fritters will have me cooking in no time! Her gorgeous photography, and witty humor (see below), make her even more amazing! I have spent countless hours on Jacquelyn's blog, and I hope you will do the same!

In the Northeast, we are experiencing freezing temperatures! In the morning, it is 7 degrees! Eekk! I don't like the cold one bit! When I am all cozy by the fireplace and wrapped in blankets, I am looking at all my favorite Resort pieces online! The colors and prints this year are amazing! All my favorite colors! The Ropes

I always like to add an arm party to my outfit. My latest addition to my jewelry collection are these The Ropes Maine bracelets. I love the bright rope and the oversized gold hook. They bring back memories summer sailing in Newport, RI. They are the perfect nautical touch to any look. I cannot wait to wear my bracelets in Florida in two weeks, and soon after in Anguilla (Hello, warm weather)

Sailing With...Kristin from Living in Color Print

Happy Monday! Today, I am featuring Kristin of Living in Color Print. I was incredibly happy when I stumbled upon Kristen's blog in the Fall. Ever since, I have had the site bookmarked and consider it a daily read of mine. She is able to mix prints perfectly while still looking put together and chic. See here if you want to see an example of what I mean. Kristin also doesn't shy away from bright, vibrant colors. Instead, she incorporates them into her looks, creating a colorful and fun outfit. I also love her travel guide on Napa Valley, called Eat.Drink.Sleep. Make sure to read the guide if you are going to Napa Valley in the near future. I hope you enjoy this week's Sailing With...

Turquoise + Leopard

I am a huge sweater devotee. I own too many, but I wear them all year round. My latest addition is this cashmere Equipment sweater. I love the bright color and the basic clean cut. To top the sweater, I wore a Dries Van Noten scarf. The combination of bright colors and animal print is a new favorite of mine, except to see tons of it in the future.

Schoolboy Blazer

One of my favorite items in my closet is my Crewcuts Boy Blazer. I received this blazer as a gift in 2009, way before I started blogging. Even though I was only ten, I felt so chic wearing my new blazer with jeans and my sparkly Crewcuts shirt. I always have been interested in fashion from wearing my Mom’s black strappy Chanel shoes that were three sizes too big to admiring the latest cover girls on Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Flash forward to February 2010, the last year that New York Fashion Week was held at Bryant Park. I was very fortunate to attend the Tommy Hilfiger show. I wore the Crewcuts blazer with a navy bubble skirt, a navy t-shirt, and my black ballet flats. I felt so chic in the blazer. It was such an amazing opportunity to attend the show and sit across from the legendary Anna Wintour.
I still wear my Crewcuts blazer. Surprisingly, it still fits me. The memories that have come along with the blazer are what is most special to me. I will always love my navy blazer.
To add a little Spring flair to my look, I paired my new cap-toe flats with basic jeans. A bright blue button down keeps the look colorful.

Weekend Wisdom

Happy Friday! This week was long and tiring (the weather didn't help). I am finishing it off with getting braces, but I am looking forward to a productive yet peaceful weekend. Btw, I am dying to get my hands on this pretty Essie Nail Polish. Wouldn't it look fabulous with this Asha by Adm Ring? I hope you have a great weekend and like the quote I included.

Baked by Melissa

I have a slight obsession with Baked by Melissa. I discovered these delicious mini cupcakes two years ago, and have never turned back. My favorites are Tie-Dye, Red Velvet, S'mores....should I keep going?! I highly suggest trying these little bites of heaven. If you love them as much as I do, join the Mini of the Month club. Baked by Melissa delivers the cupcakes right to your doorstep. They also offer a "Design Your Own Cupcakes" system online. It's perfect for a wedding, birthday, or any party.

Sailing With... Sam from The Peak of Très Chic

This week we are sailing with Sam from The Peak of Très Chic. Sam's blog was one of my favorites long before I started blogging. Her blog is unique, and brings a different perspective to interior design. Her love for antique stores is quite interesting. If you follow her on Twitter, you will often find her spending her weekends pursuing her favorite antique shops. I am constantly drawn to her blog when I need inspiration for a outfit, or a decor update.  Go check out Sam at The Peak of Très Chic!

Deer Valley Snapshots

My Deer Valley Snapshot is a little delayed!  I had a wonderful time on vacation. The skiing was ideal, and the weather was perfect. I shot two outfits there (see here, and here). The food was delicious ( my recommendations below). On my favorite day of skiing, we went to the peak of Deer Valley mountain which was almost 10,000 thousand feet! The view was breathtaking (see the last row, left side).

Riverhorse- My favorite restaurant during the trip. The food was delicious, and the decor felt as if you were in Soho. On that night, we had a talented local singer who sounded just like James Taylor!
St.Regis Hotel- The St.Regis property was amazing. See the post I did at the property. It is also home of the J&G Grill. It is excellent food after a day skiing.
Trails End Lodge- Where my family and I stayed. Apres-ski is my favorite! The cookies and hot chocolate became a addiction on the trip. Also ski-in ski-out.
Shabu- My second favorite meal. A fun Asian place, with classic food, and fun "cook it yourself" meals.

Boyfriend Blue Jeans

Lately, I have been wearing boyfriend jeans like crazy! They are definitely a change from my usual skinny jeans. Surprisingly, they are very versatile. You can either dress them up or dress them down. In this case, I dressed them up a little with my favorite Pour La Victoire wedges and a cozy sweater. Be sure to see them tons!

Caramel

Deer Valley was such a fun trip! The skiing was amazing, the food was delicious, and the weather was perfect! Our favorite post-ski spot was up on the mountain at the St.Regis. The view was incredible up there! Here I mix and matched to create a neutral based outfit, that was both cozy and chic.
