Logical

Bordeaux and caramel (scandi) candy hues are the perfect companion to my top of the totem pole jeans. As camel/caramel does happen to be the "it" color of the season, isn't that inherently stating that "black is the new black"? Never the less, at least these colors help avoid the black cat territory I enter, come the dead of winter.

Perhaps one of the best steals of my life was this Acne Studios blazer, yes indeed it is one size too big, but size smhize. To put it in simpler logic, the bigger size; the closer it is to a blanket. Just be careful not to veer into the slightly frightening 80s lane of shoulder pads.

The Style List | N. 3

Acne Studios sweatshirt, Rag & Bone leather pants, JW Alexander coat, Zespa sneakers, Aerin lipgloss, Maria Black earrings

Well, I'll be damned. You caught me blushing!

This time around, I don't mind if I do... with leather clad legs and rose-gold wings, no less.

A skip and hop through the rainbow and we've struck a good pot of blush (rose) gold.

Great Lengths

New in: this season's latest man repelling item is no one other than my favorite culottes. Along with a duster- which is a mash up of Superhero cape and Sherlock Holmes might I add- is my favorite lazy dressing item for fall. It was the silk shorts in the summer, but August is no more folks. Burnt Sienna- I feel quite silly saying that, in case you are wondering- is my favorite shade to sport. The perfect mix of camel and orange, gives a die hard black cat, some joy of color into her fall wardrobe.

But, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Today was 95 degrees and the living definition of what mid-July should feel like. All my regards to you, Mother Nature. So, if you can imagine, whipping out those new purchases isn't exactly going to cut it for the moment. Summer staples like a crop top and those insanely comfortable sandals will carry you into the best (next) season with ease.

Now, that's a transition for you, eh?

Fall Layers

Asos faux fur vest // Ralph Lauren sweater // J.Brand jeans (old) // Stuart Weitzman boots

This is the ideal fall outfit- mixed textures, cozy layers, and a warm color palette. I picked up this fur vest last week and couldn't wait to wear it over the weekend. The quality is amazing and the price is on point- I do suggest ordering one size up for layering. This hat from Rag & Bone is a new favorite of mine. It solved all those bad hair days and not to mention it's perfect for chilly mornings.

Red & Windy

Photos by Reid Parker

To say the least, this weekend was very busy and fun. I was up in Rhode Island to visit my brother at Brown for family weekend. I also had a chance to stop by the HOCR in Boston where I saw Sarah at the KJP x BB booth. I also ran into Mackenzie, Carly and their friends Amy and Emily which was a nice surprise. Back in Newport, we stayed at the Castle Hill Inn. The view there is absolutely breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. While shooting these pictures yesterday morning it was breezy- hence my wild little bun. This easy sweater dress is a new favorite of mine. It's very versatile- I paired it with a fur vest and ankle boots for dinner the previous night.

New England is stunning in the Fall. The foliage surrounds you, the sun is shining and the water glistens. On the way home, we stopped in the tranquil town of Stonington, CT. We have been there before for lunch but it gets even more charming during the fall. The streets are lined with quaint New England homes with pumpkins in the front and fallen leaves scatter the sidewalks. It was a nice moment driving by with the windows down observing the classic beauty that Autumn brings.

Luxe Opposites

Madewell sweater // Zara pants // Chanel ballet flats // Clare Vivier clutch // Michael Kors watch
 // Madewell & Bauble Bar rings // KJP bracelet c/o //

In fashion, it's all about opposites- as quoted by Nina Garcia last week at an event I attended. It is so true; you can mix high and low, girly and edgy, the list goes on and on. In addition to mixing styles, I am a big fan of mixing textures and fabrics: chunky and silky or tweed and cotton for example. Here I'm showing a contrast of chunky- with the knit sweater- and sleek- with the coated jeans. Mixing opposites can make any look much more unique and eye-catching. Always remember that fashion is not meant to be taken too seriously- take risks and play around.

Moody Blue

I have a case of the blues. Any shade of blue makes my heart swoon- hence the absurd amount of the color I have in my closet. I recently purchased this jacket from Dolce Vita. Within the weaving on the jacket, it has touches of black and grey which (in my opinion) justifies it as a neutral. On another note, I have been receiving plenty of questions for my new Q&A series. Except a fun post shortly and be sure to send me any last minute questions you might have.

Fall Palette

A.L.C. sweater & skirt // Free People jacket (old)
// YSL pumps (borrowed) // A.V. Max cuff via Lemon Stripes // Celine bag

During fall, I mostly wear the same colors: see Amy's tweet to see what I mean. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up this A.L.C. skirt and top from Intermix. A.L.C. is one of my favorite brands- each piece can be worn over and over and together or as separates. I paired the skirt with one of my favorite sweaters also from A.L.C. The maroon set would look amazing paired with a pale pink or camel coat.  I would love to know what colors or pieces that you will be wearing a ton during fall. See below for some items in my fall color palette. (all because it's fall still expect to see brights and fun prints...)
