Rational Shopping

All rational thinking goes out the window when it comes to online shopping. Somehow, I convince myself that it's perfectly justifiable to buy another pair of sneakers or leather jacket (err... it's on sale!) with summer around the corner. Never less, some of these items are essential to every girl's wardrobe; denim shorts, perhaps?

Push aside the thought of practicality, all these items are at the top of my list. Not that I need anymore shoes, but these sandals fit the bill for my feet- neutral and (almost) flat. Double check. Those paired with a striped top and shorts is my soon-to-be uniform.

 Rational shopping? That's right.

Loafers & Slip Ons

I would like you to meet my favorite shoe: the slip on. I've always love a nice suede or velvet loafer, but something about a sporty chic slip on holds a place in my heart. Of course, you can go for the classic creators of the slip on; Vans but there are some other amazing options out there. For example the suede Celines ones are perfection but a pair from Zara can be pretty swell for a fraction of the cost. I have my eye on these Joie ones: the color and the details are flawless and not to mention the fit- I tried them on last week. A pair of leopard ones are kinda awesome as well... Currently Coveting

This Winter has been quite challenging with the tons of snow in the Northeast. I am very lucky to have escaped some of the snow. I cannot wait for Spring to come- it's my favorite season. I have started to cultivate items I'm coveting for the upcoming season. I had to throw in a few pieces that I can still wear in the snow with boots. For example these camo jeans, and this Alexander McQueen scarf- obsessed. Also, I love printed silky shorts that can also be worn with tights to keep your legs warm now and be worn with strappy sandals (like these gold J.Crew ones) in the Spring and Summer. Lastly, I added fun items such as a yummy candle and lucite decor for my bedroom. Also, I am guest posting about Spring trends for the next month over at GirlsLife!!

It Girl: Mackenzie Horan

Hello! This week's It Girl, I am so excited about! Today I am featuring the lovely, Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling. I had the pleasure of meeting Mackenzie at a Kate Spade event about a month ago (to see more about the event, go here), she is more lovely in person! Her blog represents the classic, preppy ,girlie girl who loves anything pink and monogrammed. For the holidays, Mackenzie created a amazing DIY Letter Wreath! The wreath is so unique, and creative! She also has her online boutique, Design Darling. Let me tell you now, I love everything! Mackenzie is so sweet, kind, and incredibly talented. I am thrilled to have Mackenzie as part of my It Girl series!
