After a winter full of wearing turtlenecks and jeans on repeat, I began to grow tiresome of my established said uniform. I like to think it as a sartorial version of cabin fever? As the core pieces don't exactly change, little things like layering a collared shirt underneath or ditching the boots once makes somewhat of a difference. 

My preferred option of spicing up threads, is not threads itself, but sunglasses. If the suns out- scratch that- when it's not raining, you bet a bottom dollar that you'll find sunglasses glued to my face. If I'm not wearing my trusty aviators (or my sailing shades via Kaenon), I will be in mirrored frames. Despite, having other mirrored aviators, these futuristic glasses take the cake. (plus, Back to the Future slash mad scientist vibes are real).

Quite A Quest

The treacherous task of finding a great pair of distressed black skinnys- hey, I like my jeans a specific way- is over. After seeing endless $300 + pairs of "ehhh" denim duds, a freaking Mother miracle- pun, most certainly intended- descended onto my tired eyes that happen to boring into a computer screen at an ungodly hour. 

If you don't call that a shopping miracle, then I don't what one is! And life is made easy for me with pre-frayed ends, so I don't botch a perfectly good pair of jeans because I want them to look, I quote "cool". When worn with several knit layers on top, I'll trade my Patagonia fleece haven without somewhat of a (big) fight. Small strides....

Nifty-Knot

Wearing: J.Crew sweaters, Madewell jeans, River Island loafers, Jules Smith choker

It was about time I took the prep school kid classic and went for a wild ride. In my case, a pair of almost identical sweaters does the trick just fine. An ode to Monsieur Lemaire, who was one of the first to introduce the nifty knot into everyone's wardrobe. My best way of describing the double sweaters: prep school roughed up. Truly enough, the only reason I have an absurd amount of navy sweaters is because, err, uniforms! 

Two thumbs up for the jumper knot and all its cape-like glory. 

Transitional

It's inevitable to go through any season change and not title at least blog post with the word or any word somewhat similar to transition. Face the facts here people.

Despite the sky rocket annoyance of it, I can say without a doubt that summer to fall, is one damn hard time. Especially when coats and layers are playing sartorial mind games on you.

But, let's get real. Anyone who is whipping out fall attire in 90 degrees should get their head checked out.  I'm shocked on how I managed to wear pants (erm, culottes) when it was hot and humid last Saturday for some NYFW meetings and events.

The key: popping into AC as often as possible and hoping for the best.

To keep the summer side in line, my trusty white crop top did me well to beat the heat. I cannot say the same for these loafers though... as cute as they are, the blisters are not. #bandaids4days? Oh yes.

Winter Outerwear

Hello! With Winter sneaking up on us, why not find the perfect topper! As much as I love summer, I get so excited for coats for the Fall & Winter. Personally, I tend to wear either a colorful puffer, a cozy toggle, or a vest (which is perfect for layering). Finding the perfect outerwear, can enhance your outfit dramatically.
