4 Things Street Style Taught Me | PFW

ph. by Tommy Ton for style.com

To close up the month of fashion, the door closed in Paris. Stay tuned for a better late than never roundup of the best of PFW. Till September, (fashion) school is out.

1: The over sized denim jacket is your new bestie. When paired with flares in a similar wash, your 70s to 90s crossover game is sharp.

2: To add shape to any coat,  utilize your belt or for those who are innovative, ribbon works just as well.

3: Headscarves aren't just for the beach or windy days cruising on the PCH.

4: Take note from one of the most stylish of them all, a cape plus a jacket sans sleeves guarantees maximum everything.

4 Things Street Style Taught Me | PFW

Ph. Tommy Ton for Style.com

My apologies for the delay on the last installment of this season's "street style school", as I've dubbed it. To close it up we jump to Paris, the city of impeccable style and an incredible charade way of life. Tommy Ton captured every French babe in the perfect life from seasoned Madame Alt to the unknown beauties running from show to show.

School's out. See ya in February

1: In a land of luxe leather handbags that cost a pretty Euro, a monogrammed canvas tote- hit up, L.L. Bean- stands out. Plus, it just looks pretty damn cool against endless it bags.

2: She can do no wrong. The original black cat of the fashion world.

3: Forget plunging necklines and open backs. A mini knit dress and thigh high boots give enough allure to the naked eye.

4: Back to prep school is the way to go: #niftyknot

A Grand Farewell

Whilst finally finding time to sort through a plethora of runway afer runway from Paris, as always one show catches my eye.

As Hermès' artistic director, Christophe Lemaire departs the French house, he says goodbye with great emotion (in the clothes and his own countenance), subtly understated- but with exquisite fashion. It's what Hermès does best.

Look after look, Lemaire created a collection of purity and fluid sharpness. Some could say the collection was lack luster and missing the signature touch that Martin Margiela laid out when he was buliding an asethicic for the brand. But the smaller details, like the rope knotted belt (which kicked the d-ring out of the park), and the silky slitheottes are missed by the naked eye, but make the collection. Inspired by African culture, muted colors of mustard and plum and tribal prints develop a coherence between the Pairsian charm and worldly appeal.

Overall, Christophe Lemaire parted farewell with nothing other than class and grace. Like a true French.

Sailing With... Viviana from Fashion Truffles

Hello! Welcome to my new series, Sailing With... My new feature will have more lifestyle based questions unlike my last series which was more fashion based. I am very excited about this new series, and with that, this is who we are sailing with this week!

Meet Viviana of Fashion Truffles. Firstly, Viviana goes on the most amazing trips, like her upcoming one to Thailand!!  I also love her outfit collages inspired by Pinterest. You will always find something that you love! This one is my favorite! Lastly, I know the holidays have past, but her gift guides were fantastic! You can still use them to find a birthday present, or a little gift for yourself. I hope you enjoy the feature on Viviana, and make sure to read Fashion Truffles!

Keep on Sailing,
Sloane
