A Grand Farewell

Whilst finally finding time to sort through a plethora of runway afer runway from Paris, as always one show catches my eye.

As Hermès' artistic director, Christophe Lemaire departs the French house, he says goodbye with great emotion (in the clothes and his own countenance), subtly understated- but with exquisite fashion. It's what Hermès does best.

Look after look, Lemaire created a collection of purity and fluid sharpness. Some could say the collection was lack luster and missing the signature touch that Martin Margiela laid out when he was buliding an asethicic for the brand. But the smaller details, like the rope knotted belt (which kicked the d-ring out of the park), and the silky slitheottes are missed by the naked eye, but make the collection. Inspired by African culture, muted colors of mustard and plum and tribal prints develop a coherence between the Pairsian charm and worldly appeal.

Overall, Christophe Lemaire parted farewell with nothing other than class and grace. Like a true French.

Schooled

To start this monday off on the proper foot, I would like to state that indeed, school and street style have taught me one thing.

That the idea of wearing your trainers with anything other than athletic wear seems far out and would end up as one of Glamour's Don'ts. In the midst of my classes and pursuing Tommy and other camera wielded superstars, the combination of sneakers with a skirt, then dressed back down with your best t-shirt, creates that effortless look we all long for the minute we step into our closet. Plus, quirkier details like a silk scarf bring in color and some details. You see, it is a complex fashion formula of wearing sneakers and avoiding "Tacky Tally" territory. In short:

Sneakers will forever and always be your best friend.

And in this case, if it cross your mind that I'm missing school, you've thought wrong (long live summer!). Yet, ironically, I am learning math navigation for sailing as I type.

School (plus, style.com) never leaves you.

Gypsy

Monica Vinader and vintage bracelets, Catbird rings, Bauble Bar ring

It's a love affair with off the shoulder blouses. They remind me of frolicking through the Mediterranean circa 1960s. Boating with Bardot, thought you'd never ask. Despite the annoyance of constantly pulling down the sleeves, they give my usual tomboy style, an easy dose of feminine (what you say!) The contrast of the gypsy style blouse and the boyfriend jeans is unexpected but a combination that will be worn on repeat.

If only I could be laying out at Club 55 gazing out into the blue horizon. Does someone have a one way ticket to France? Je voyagerai rapide. See ya then.

Vibrance

Current & Elliott jeans, Hermes scarf, Alice & Olivia heels (different color, Isabel Marant x H&M blazer, Chanel bag, Sloane Ranger bracelet c/o, Catbird rings, Monica Vinader bracelet

This past weekend, it was great to feel the warm sunshine on my face and for the temperatures to excel 50*. Winter has felt like a massive black hole of polar vortexes and countless feet of snow. Receiving a small taste of Spring boosted my mood (especially being near the ocean this past weekend). Being able to step outside in a blazer and jeans was the best feeling ever. These boyfriend jeans are the closest my legs have been exposed to air the past four months and I cannot wait to wear them more in the Spring. Along with a simple look of jeans and a blazer, a silk scarf spices things up a little. I am not a big scarf person but I love the un-expected twist of wearing it "western style".  Here is to a vibrant Spring ahead... don't worry, it is coming.

Floral Shirtdress

Club Monaco Shirtdress // Vince Sandals // Urban Outfitters Sunglasses // Design Darling Monogrammed iPhone Case
// Julie Vos Bangles c/o // Loren Hope Link Bracelet // Bauble Bar Cuff // Hermes Bracelet // Urban Outfitters Spike Bracelet // Catbird "Star" Ring

I have always loved a good shirtdress. They are  perfect for the days when you want to look put together without tons of effort. I fell in love with this printed Club Monaco dress.  It cinches a little bit at the waist and the length is just right. Shirtdresses are also great for traveling. This August, my family and I going to Provence and St.Tropez for vacation. An easy shirtdress will be ideal for touring and walking around! You can pair them with easy flats and straw tote for day. At night, switch out flats for heeled sandals, and add a few baubles. I've included a few shirtdresses that I love below!

Stars/Dots

Boden Romper (old) // Madewell Sweater // Joie Loafers // Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses // Celine Bag
// Hermes Scarf (borrowed) // Michael Kors Watch // Bauble Bar Bracelets // Loren Hope Bracelet

I have been mixing prints way more often. I love a classic color scheme with mixed prints; like this look I wore last month. Having a color scheme is important for mixing prints, here I wore all blues and navy. I added a small pop of color with a scarf around my bag. Mixing prints is also about being creative. In this case, I'm actually wearing a romper with a printed v-neck sweater over! Hope you are having a good weekend!

Prints & Faces

Day one is Anguilla is complete! The weather is beyond wonderful! My family and I are staying at the Viceroy. The amazing resort was decorated by Kelly Wearstler. The modern and sleek decor inspired this look. I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit with this skirt. The print with the cool colors is unique and different looking. Stay tuned for more pictures soon!
