Florals | Winter

Last time I wore this dress, it was hot and humid and I can report to you from cocooned blankets that I would trade that for anything- slightly an exaggerated statement, but you get my gist. Like always, the art of layering is a work in progress. Because hey, we all can't wake up one day and a create a masterpiece like Da Vinci.

Part of my resolutions was to only buy pieces that I love, which implies that shopping my closet will become a more regular occurrence under my roof. Instead of pushing those summertime dresses and skirts to the back of the closet, pop on a popover (#punnyfunny), amongst other layering essentials, and hit the concrete. The somewhat annoying and eye-roll inducing phrase, a bang for your buck, has become a reality.

Leather Letters

Zara playsuit (last worn here, similar), Joie sandals, Celine Bag

A majority of my most worn pieces are from the holy grail of high-street treasure hunting: Zara. My most recent score was this leather jacket. It just shows how a staple piece doesn't need to be a million bucks but that it can make you feel that much. Once again, points to Zara for their ability to wow me every single time. Like this playsuit, which has me- the girl who used to never wear black- sports the color at least twice a week. Magic powers... I tell you.

All year round leather is my preferred type of topper- perfect for chilly Spring mornings and Summer nights. But, if you aren't feeling the black for summer, try white. No matter what though, leather gives every outfit some of attitude. And who wouldn't want that?

Chill

Wearing: Mango jacket, Asos dress, Equipment sweater, Stuart Weitzman boots, Tony Duquette for Coach ring (old)

After searching for the perfect leather topper, Mango delivered and did not disappoint. I was hesitant to buy a leather jacket, fearing that it would look to "biker-grunge". I picked one with not much hardware and instead it adds easy edge to any outfit. This jacket has been the "missing link" in my wardrobe. It brings any outfit up a notch and I highly suggest purchasing one of your own. Shop leather toppers below:
