Denim Street

Like every other freezing soul in the Northern Hemisphere, I'm looking forward to Spring- which seems light years on light years away. Last Spring, I purchased these jeans from high street royalty, Queen Z(ara). From wear and tear (and trips n splits here and there), the holes have grown three sizes.  These pair are my usual weekend culprit. But what else is new?  Paul Simon had the right idea about jeans way back when... "holes in the knees of my jeans".

Lost?

The calendar might say Monday, but I'm still in a weekend mindset and so is my wardrobe. During January, my efforts of dressing are lowered to kitten heel level, so you can only imagine that I've created a uniform for winter. Similar to last year's go to, but a little more diverse in that.

Turtleneck sweaters, black jeans, and boots.

But after wearing the same variation of a look for over a month, it is nice to shake things up a little that department. That's where textures come to play. Leather legs, denim jacket, suede shoes (not the most practical with snow in the picture) become the magic potion when in an all-black rut.

So, if next Monday morning (or tomorrow), you happen to face the hardships of the forever lingering question "what to wear", make sure you file away this post.

Good Jeans

Remember last weekend, how I lived in two pair of jeans? Oh yes, it's time to meet the latest addition of the genes jeans pool. Created from the brains at James Jeans, they're yoga-approved and stretchy enough to give the feeling of sweatpants without the indolence factor of my preferred Saturday night duds.

Along with a great pair of new jeans to spruce up my attire, I am still sporting my summertime pullover of choice. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...  To top it all off, Anine Bing booties snagged on sale a whilst back and, after several bumps in the road of a broken zipper and a 1/2 size too small, they are finally being worn. Hurrah!

Psht. Time for the weekend.

Seeking Overalls

Wearing: Levis overalls, Alexis top, Belle by Sigerson Morrison shoes (old, similar), Jules Smith choker, Brandy Melville ring, Ray-Ban sunglasses

Remember way back when I was on the road of the overall-esque romper which eventually turned into a path of seeking, dare I say, overalls? Oh yes, we have arrived in a land where a farmer's favorite attire is stylish.
I'm praying I don't look like a farmer.

Since I took the road down to overall-world, I might as well give it a good whirl. To avoid looking like two things- a) an young child or b) a hillbilly; a modern crop top, sandals, and by dear God a Chanel hopefully helped me avoid going into that territory. Which by all means should remained uncharted, if that wasn't clear already.

For a person like me who likes to take the "trend less" route of personal sartorial ways, these overalls forced me to step up my game and out of my comfort zone.

Alas, I'm crossing my fingers it worked. In all honesty, overalls are sorta rad.

Denim Daze

Now in all honesty, I am very picky about denim. I tend to wear certain brands more than other or certain styles. Lately, I've been wearing boyfriend jeans much more especially when paired with feminine pieces. Every girl should own three pairs of jeans; skinny, white, and boyfriend. These three  are all different but extremely versatile now matter what your style is. Despite what some say, white jeans can be worn all year round. I am sharing some of my favorite denim styles today in three washes, plus my favorite three styles. Shop it all below:
