I Want To Go To There • N. 1

I slightly feel like I've dropped of the face of the e-world due to endless reading on Chinese dynasties and Odysseus.

Aye, hashtag the struggle is real. On the flip side, it doesn't help that I've been binge watching Gilmore Girls (umm... where I can I find a Dean? Sign me up please and thank you).

So while I finally sit down to write my deepest and most intriguing thoughts, I look out the window and... le sigh. The depths of January are taunting me while I see (via Instagram) people jet off to Tulum and who knows where else.  I'll admit it, guys. I've caught the travel bug, but hey, things are looking up on my calendar. In a month, I'll be in Florida for sailing and in two months, my home away from home, St.Barths.

Until then, I still have a travel scratch to itch, so at the moment, when can I get on the next plane to Kauai, Hawaii?

As this is a judgement free zone (except for my feelings on socks and birks... let's be real), my good friend and I are die-hard Alana Blanchard fans. So after watching endless episodes of Alana Surfer Girl, we happen to planning our next trip to Kauai, the land of surfers. Maybe we can't surf like her- let me dream, but Kauai is available for me, right?

Some of the places I wanna go? Queen's Bath, Hanalei Bay, The Blue Room, Lumahai Beach, and Na Pali Coast State Park.

Where do you want to go next? Share, share, share....

In the Sun

#TBT is coming a day late.

Earlier this week, I came across some unpublished photos all the way back to Anguilla. How I would kill to be transported there with the snap of my fingers. We all can dream.

Whilst in Anguilla, I sported this custom Piol dress several nights. And just in time for the holidays, Piol is the perfect party pal to avoid an unwanted #twinning this season.

If you are in need of a virtual beach trip, head to my archives for more sun and sand

Third Beach

Sharing my last bit of my trip up to Newport last weekend. I haven't been to Third Beach in roughly 8  years, hence I've forgotten how incredible the beach is.

Before the Northeast turned into a massive icicle... uh, yesterday, I was wearing this denim jacket and fisherman knit combination everyday. Taking a chance here, and hoping I'll still wear it as a layering piece under my beloved Barbour (aka the only coat I wear)

To A T | Lou & Grey

If it isn't obvious by now, I love the seaside and anything remotely vintage or with a 70s vibe. Secretly, I wish that I could become a surfer and move to California, but we all can't be that cool.  Stemming from this fantasy, is my love for vinyls and laid-back decor. When I walked into the Lou & Grey store in Westport, that little dream of mine came alive. Retro light leaked images hung on the walls and stacks of records and books filled the floors. Could I move in please, or would they gladly decorate my room? If you ever find yourself near Westport, take a detour to the Lou & Grey store.

Enough about the decor though, the rich lounge wear clothes shined above and beyond. The two main items I fell in love with was this skirt (in several colors) and this t-shirt. For a while, I've been on the hunt for the perfect t-shirt, a struggle that is much more challenging than it seems to the naked eye. As much as the T by Alexander Wang are silky soft, the price just doesn't fit the bill. As luck would have it though, the L&G v-neck was cut with a tomboy slouch fit, but didn't look like I bought it from the men's department (which I highly suggest for sweaters... #singleasapringle). Snagged in three different colors, it fits my surfer dream to a T (it's friday & I like puns)

This post is part of a collaboration with Lou & Grey.

Summer Vibes

*all from Instagram- @sailingseastyle

My apologies for having a majority of my Insta-snaps of the ocean.

It's official, I have summer fever.
Time for tan legs, sunsets, travels, and blistered hands (my best regards, Laser sailing).

And..... cue the Beach Boys.

Barnes Bay

Having it be almost May, I thought it was time to finally wrap up my jaunt down in Anguilla. And what is not better than a Isabel Marant Etoile doppelganger from Zara to close the show... Am I right or am I right? The real deal wouldn't hurt either but this must do for now.

Before returning back home, a final walk on the quiet Barnes Bay coast was crucial. Sandy toes and salty hair were the ideal companion along with this tunic to bid adieu to my favorite island.

That I most certainly will be returning to... if you would like to see more check out my Facebook page tomorrow.

Simplicity

Spell dress, Oliver Peoples sunglasses c/o Seaside Luxe

One evening in Anguilla, I slipped on a simple dress and headed down to my favorite area of Barnes Bay. The beautiful beach is filled with hanging ivy and conch shells that scatter the beach. The few moments right before sunset were serenity at its finest.

This Spell dress was my go-to little number during my time in Anguilla. It's a breezy little dress that everyone should have for summer and so on (i.e. musical festival season). This simplistic slip can be worn many different ways for those summer nights that will be soon dawning upon us (it's coming!)

Sandy Island

One day, my mom and I ventured out to Sandy Island- a tiny island right off the coast of Anguilla. Taking a small and rickety boat, we were transported to paradise. My family and I have been visiting  Anguilla for a long time but never have been out to Sandy Island. The day was filled with fresh food and snorkeling through incredible reefs. The two opposite sides of the island are unique; one side is completely rocky with small swells and the other is perfectly still. Being out there without any connection to the outside world makes you realize how indescribably beautiful the world is around you.

*fun fact: a season finale of the Bachelor was filmed on Sandy Island!

Beach Essentials

Sorry I've not posted any outfits lately, I promise I have some coming later this week. Tomorrow I will be heading off to Anguilla. I cannot wait to have the sand in my toes and the salt in my hair- be sure to follow the fun on Instagram. As I escape into warmer weather, I make sure to pack items that are considered "beach essentials". To be honest, I never thought I would wear anything but sandals at the beach. Yet, Soludos has proven me wrong (don't fret, the Jacks are still coming...) Easy coverups like this playsuit and shorts are great for beach days. C'mon who really wears a ton of jewelry on the beach- but this Vita Fede bracelet is too good to pass up. I picked up this underwater iPhone camera case last week and cannot wait to try it out. Lastly, you can't go to the beach without a good book and sunscreen. As much as I love intense books, a light "fluffy" read is much better for the beach. Have you read Where'd You Go, Bernadette? As a closing thought, check out this article talking all about Spring Break.

Winter Beach

Irish knit, Mango coat, James Jeans, Converse, DKNY tights (worn under jeans),

On Sunday morning, we ventured out quite early to the beach. I have explained my love for beaches during the Winter and this was a perfect example of why I love it. Bundled up in thick knits and warm layers, we escaped into a less snowy winter. The water was eerily still and the sun warmed our faces. Sometimes my friends, winter isn't so bad after all.
