Fringe x Fringe

It has been over a week without an outfit post. Sort of defeats the whole purpose of personal style... Ergh, between traveling and the biggest culprit of it all, Mother-beep-Nature, I've haven't had time to shoot new content until this past weekend. Well, that's half true. Today's look was actually shot before heading down south, but a few technical related problems arose, which delayed said post.

In summary, the internet is annoying.

Following the it's so nice, say it twice mantra when it comes to this bucket bag via Alekka. My ode to the 70s is still going strong with an awaited return to middle-parted hair which may I add, first was born at the ripe age of seven. Then, I got bangs. Let us save my adolescence hair debacles for another time.

This bag has a cowboy-in-the-city attitude that gives an updated take on the classic bucket bag.
The end result? Straight to the top of my wishlist.

The calendar might say Monday, but I'm still in a weekend mindset and so is my wardrobe. During January, my efforts of dressing are lowered to kitten heel level, so you can only imagine that I've created a uniform for winter. Similar to last year's go to, but a little more diverse in that.

Turtleneck sweaters, black jeans, and boots.

But after wearing the same variation of a look for over a month, it is nice to shake things up a little that department. That's where textures come to play. Leather legs, denim jacket, suede shoes (not the most practical with snow in the picture) become the magic potion when in an all-black rut.

So, if next Monday morning (or tomorrow), you happen to face the hardships of the forever lingering question "what to wear", make sure you file away this post.

Code Red

There has been many red undertones in my sartorial game as of late. Breaking the myth of redheads cannot wear the fiery shade, but in my case I prefer a more muted terra cotta kinda red. Case in point: this Lou & Grey skirt. Picked up in this washed out red shade and a classic black, it is much welcomed change from silky separates or a pair of denim shorties. Plus it is an ode to the Western inspired front of fashion when paired with a denim button down and booties. Or if you're like yours truly, stripes are the way to go.... upping your patriotic game is a big fat check in my book.

Time to call for a code red.

Garden Party

Wearing: Zara playsuit, Shoemint booties (similar), Celine bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

Summer is filled with soirees, and ya know me I'm no Fancy Nancy. Playsuit plane has taken off and trust me, isn't landing anytime soon. I keep trying to convince my angsty and stubborn self to expand my wardrobe of essentially onesies, but we're going no where with that idea.

Once again, Zara has saved me and my closet full of zero dresses with this party playsuit. And... shimmy two three four. The bell sleeves and open back channel my inner hippie chick and my good 'ole black booties give edge- plus, plenty of comfort. Of course for those beach side- and garden- parties, sandals and barefoot vibes replace concrete ready booties.

Garden party aside, florals girly things up without turning me into a Pink Princess. Perhaps it's the casualness of playsuits or the booties, but this outfit is filed under: Wear all Summer

 Forever a flower child.

Floral Triumph

Wearing: The Reformation blouse, Asos jeans, Mango coat, J.Crew hat, Shoemint booties

I am not one to go for florals, but in all honesty I am sick of stripes (I might have worn them too much last summer). After purchasing this Reformation floral blouse, I have been adding more floral printed pieces to my closet. I was thrilled to find a print I actually liked and is not at all frumpy. One more note- I'm surprised these jeans are just making their debut. I have been wearing them almost everyday- not joking one bit. Baby steps towards those floral prints, friends. Baby steps.

Rule Breaker

Isabel Marant x H&M blazer | Zara turtleneck | Rich and Skinny jeans | Shoemint x Sea of Shoes booties (last worn here) | Lora Piana scarf | Loeffler Randall bag (similar, similar)

Happy December everyone- not to mention Cyber Monday. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving full of food, family, and cheer. There are a couple of items that I love to wear- turtlenecks, oversized scarfs, and white jeans. Today's post is quite the rule breaker- mixing navy and black and white jeans. But it's fashion and rules are meant to be broken. Winter white is refreshing to wear and it most definitely lightens up an outfit that has a darker palette.

Menswear Vibe

Mango coat - James jeans (last worn here) - Brandy Melville sweater - Shoemint loafers (old)

Happy Monday! I've mentioned before how much I love an oversized, menswear inspired coat. I've been shopping from Mango recently and noticed how they have insanely cool coats. I pretty much wore this one all weekend pairing it with simple separates. I also have my eye on this plaid one from Topshop. Shop some great coats below:
