Clear Eyes

Sorry for being missing-in-action (otherwise sailing) this past week. It's been a long one. To break it down; four new bruises, maybe a broken finger, blonder hair, interesting tan lines, seven foot waves, many boats, and one regatta.

That's Laser sailing for you. I have no idea what motivates me to work through waves that break over my head or when my quads are on fire from hiking upwind, but that little spark inside me (wherever the hell it is!) tells me to work harder and better. Despite a sore body and a towering stack of overdue homework, I'm ready to fly home after an eye-opening week on the water.

A change in the tides here (pun fully intended).... This wrap waist playsuit from Zara is the best excuse of dressing up. Fellow black cats rejoice!

One more thing.

The ideal way to sum up this week is quoting my favorite (errr.. fictional) sports team. the Dillion Panthers.

Snakeskin Slits

Wearing: Evil Twin pants, Urban Outfitters sweater (last worn here),
Pour La Victoire heels (old, similar here), Hermes bracelet (check out the Real Real!), Chanel bag

Ripped jeans' good girl sister has surfaced. Clean cut slits at the knees calls for onlookers double-checking to see if you purposely sliced your jeans or nah, but hey all is good. Continuing with the clean-cut momentum with the help black pointy toes, and a gray knit.

Dressed Down

Wearing: Mango pants (similar, similar), Ralph Lauren sweater (old, Equipment option-on sale!),
Dolce Vita heels, Chanel bag, Hermes bracelet

Of course I love a nice fancy-shmancy party dress, or a killer LBD- my #1- but for the more causal holiday parties, a statement pant and some cashmere will become your savior. The holiday season is the perfect chance to be a little risky when it comes to dressing. My advice, dress down to make a statement but make sure you still have some statement piece. Got that?

And for a change, I am choosing heels over flats... shocked? Surprisingly these don't kill your feet after a night of dancing- test-runned by yours truly.

So shimmy shimmy, party hardy this month!

Psst.. its Cyber Monday!

:: Check out Shopbop for some amazing deals- use the code GOBIG2014. ::

Round Two

Wearing: Ralph Lauren poncho, The Reformation jeans (worn here, and here), Lanvin loafers (last worn here), Chanel bag

Round two of shades of gray.

Taking a different route from yesterday's darker look. White boyfriend jeans- which are a saving grace- and python skin loafers. A cashmere poncho is a top notch alternative to vest or lightweight topper. Like my logic from earlier,  it's also killing the "wearable blanket" game.

Coven Mood

Wearing: Asos top, Chanel skirt, Zara jacket, Chanel ballet flats, Topshop choker

Some serious coven moods today.
At least, I'm already taking notes from Lacoste, and including some racing stripes and a lightweight anorak thrown over flowing fabrics. I think we all can agree I'm acing Runway to Real Life 101.... or yacht party gone dark... jokes, jokes.

Chanel Royale

 Brocade, feather, tweed, oh my!

Never has Monsieur Karl disappointed with his shows. For Resort 2015, we were greeted with a revived punk princess. Strapless dresses encrusted in jewels will a plethora of feathers. Ballernina sandals balance out the heavier brocade and tweed pieces. Of course, my favorite tweed suit and loafers are also thrown into a mix of Renaissance/punk/Chanel princess goodness.

À la vôtre Chanel!

Unbuttoned

Wearing: Zara shirt (old), J. Brand jeans (last worn here), Asos shoes, Chanel bag

Depending on how you want to spin it, I'm either attempting to dress like a boy or I was too lazy to button my shirt all the way. No one will ever know my true tales of getting dressed.

But, I did purposely leave half of my shirt unbuttoned. After Wang had boxers and sleep shirts walk the run, I've been drawn to the idea of leaving half of my shirt open. Why? Don't ask me- just enjoy the fact that pajama dressing is socially acceptable. My tip- size up and roll the sleeves- oh and head to the gym, because that stomach doesn't want to tone itself....fashion, what you make us do.

Python

Wearing: Zimmermann shorts (no longer avail.), Equipment blouse, Jack Rogers sandals, Chanel bag, Asha by Adm pendant c/o, Oliver Peoples sunglasses c/o Seaside Luxe

I hope you had a lovely weekend and Easter!

A few months ago, I came across a new level of online shopping; The Dreslyn. To say the least, it might be one of the best curated shops ever. Full of my favorite designers (hey Zimmermann, A.P.C.  Heidi Merrick), I am astonished that I had a some self control when surfing through the site. The two items I did purchase were a grey sweatshirt (worn here) and these Zimmermann shorts which came with me to Anguilla.

I sported silk shorts quite a bit last summer but these have kicked it up a notch. Pairing them with my go-to Equipment blouse that I might wear at least once a week (praise you Equipment) made me feel as if I was wearing sleepwear... for some odd reason, it seems that I am currently into pajama dressing. The python print brought a welcomed change to my usual stripes and solid wardrobe.

Interchange

Hopping back to my adventures in Anguilla, I find myself sporting my favorite items.

Every now and then I find a piece (in this case, pieces) that I simply adore. I can never seem to get enough of white clothing with interesting details. Somehow, I convince myself that it's completely rational to only wear those certain items day in and day out. Even if people begin to question if I own any other clothes (and yes, I do thank you very much). In this scenario, that it exactly what is happening with these incredible items from Alexis and Asos. When worn all together, it creates an impact, yet when worn alone they are just equally amazing. Call me crazy but if I seem to be sporting an item 24/7, that is a home run in my book.
