Sweatshirt Gold

After much convincing to myself that this sweatshirt was worth every little penny, I took the bait on Otte. Buyers remorse? Nope. It most definitely beats my oversized hoodies, to say the least. Perhaps one of the most known pieces of the Euro powerhouse, I finally jumped on the street style gold sweatshirt bandwagon. Never the less, God bless Acne and it's ability to win my heart with it's Scandi coolness and all that jazz. The best part of it all... weekend dressing just became a walk in the park.

On another note, today is my BIRTHDAY! I celebrated most of the weekend, so today will be a pretty low key day.

Coven Mood

Wearing: Asos top, Chanel skirt, Zara jacket, Chanel ballet flats, Topshop choker

Some serious coven moods today.
At least, I'm already taking notes from Lacoste, and including some racing stripes and a lightweight anorak thrown over flowing fabrics. I think we all can agree I'm acing Runway to Real Life 101.... or yacht party gone dark... jokes, jokes.

Good Jeans

Remember last weekend, how I lived in two pair of jeans? Oh yes, it's time to meet the latest addition of the genes jeans pool. Created from the brains at James Jeans, they're yoga-approved and stretchy enough to give the feeling of sweatpants without the indolence factor of my preferred Saturday night duds.

Along with a great pair of new jeans to spruce up my attire, I am still sporting my summertime pullover of choice. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...  To top it all off, Anine Bing booties snagged on sale a whilst back and, after several bumps in the road of a broken zipper and a 1/2 size too small, they are finally being worn. Hurrah!

Psht. Time for the weekend.

Red Handed

Starting this Monday with a bang and my new favorite color, cherry red. When Fall rolls around... uh, today, my wardrobes simplifies to a handful of curated pieces.

You caught me (red-handed). #punnyfunny

This sweater? Impulse buy from that cunning little Spaniard- go back to Friday to catch my drift. An oversized knit paired with light wash denim and a ladylike pump is should I say, the ideal juxtaposition for September sartorial selection aka "the tedious task of getting dressed in the wee hours of the morning"

But back to that nonsense of curated pieces. It isn't a complete white lie, folks!! This weekend I lived in 6 pieces: two jeans, one stripe, one sweater (25% off), one sneaker, and one slide-on. Mind you, my weekend consisted of Netflix and homework... party hard?

I plan to break out my cherry red jumper once again, fluffiness, color and all next weekend.

High Street Friday

When the concept of style staples comes up, it sometimes brings along a hefty price tag because of a common misconception of staples = inve$tment. Whilst this does apply to life's finer goods (i.e. bags, shoes), high street stops like Zara or Topshop offer killer pieces to take you from season to season without a glitch. Let us not forget my Zara playsuit- which has gotten more wear than it's own good- and for when I care for something somewhat similar (remember, keep it spicy), this black jumpsuit wins the Zara draw. The four lettered Spaniard is the quite guilty one for my overflowing wardrobe.

And on the bottom half of the my sartorial spectrum, if you haven't figured it out already, my preferred shoe of choice is a sneaker.... erm #sneakerhead? Introducing my latest catch a la New Balance

BOND

Wearing: J.Brand jeans, Topshop sweater, Mango leather jacket, Mango coat (similar), Celine bag, Alice & Olivia heels (another awesome color), Asha by Adm ring

I am back friends- sorry for being absent around here. I have been down in Florida for a sailing regatta since Wednesday- check out my instagram for some snapshots. Today is the last day and tonight I will be flying home (not too thrilled to leave warm weather). I shot these photos with Lydia last week outside an incredible building on Bond Street. Here I am again wearing my new favorite jacket from Mango. It might be one of my smartest purchases I've ever made. Because it is still Winter (the mini mountains of snow remind us!) it was essential to layer up with a heavy coat and cozy sweater. With all the dark colors, white jeans gave a much needed relief of white to the outfit. The small details like the quilting on the jeans and pop of stripes add interest to an otherwise simple outfit. Enjoy your Sunday!

Elements of Tweed

Wearing: Three Floor dress, Pour La Victoire heels (old but, similarsimilar)

Photos by Lydia Hudgens

Just to clear up any confusion, these photos are from a few weeks ago. I have always been drawn to Three Floor dresses. They are all unique and have eye catching elements which makes them stand apart from other brands. This dress caught my eye because of the tweed detailing and open back. It makes a statement on its own so I kept it simple with tried and true heels. Shop more Three Floor dresses below.

Polar Blues

Wallace & Barnes sweater borrowed from my brother, Rag & Bone jeans (similar)
Alice + Olivia heels, Celine bag, Asha by Adm necklace c/o, Bauble Bar necklace

Whoever said that you can't wear summer pieces in the middle of winter was very very wrong. I purchased these rag & bone jeans this previous summer on super sale at Intermix. They are a little bit edgier than basic white because of the bleached fabric and zippers at the ankles- which are perfect for showing off killer heels. Of course I am wearing head-to-toe blue again. A chunky sweater is one stop layering and ideal on Winter days. My rule on knits- the thicker, the better especially during polar vortexes.

Contrast

A.L.C. stripes (similar), Zara knit, Club Monaco leather leggings- on sale, Asos slip ons (similar)

Photos by Lydia Hudgens

If you ever look at a compelling outfit there is always some contrast. The outfit is full of different elements that seemingly work together. The pairing of these separates was quite spontaneous. And no surprise, they are all favorites in my wardrobe. I didn't notice until writing this post the contrast between each item from heavy knit to sleek leather and the mixing of prints. Having variation in my outfits is what I find keeps them interesting (I hope so at least!) and when it happens accidentally it is even better. Have a great weekend. x

Modern Parisian

Wearing: Zara playsuit (similar), Isabel Marant x H&M blazer (similar), Chanel flats, Bauble Bar necklace (gift from Gracey)

Photos by Lydia Hudgens

Bare legs for days.... I'm back home and was greeted by frigid temperatures. These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago on an oddly warm day. Now I will be wearing some fleece tights and tons of layers to even go outside for 10 seconds. This playsuit might go down as one of my favorite Zara pieces. Complete with crisp pleats and a sheer back, it channels modern Parisian chic.
