The Golden Three

There is some sort of running joke between my family, friends, and I that either dress like a) I'm on my way to Paris Fashion Week, b) that I'm a surf bum or c) that I am a mix of Ralph Lauren ad meets hippie.

Hey, it's how I roll. This weekend was especially prominent in my sartorial decisions as I wore the latter of the three styles. Along with that, my high top converse have replaced my black Nikes, but note to all, ice + converse equals bruised back.

Studded

Similar to my thoughts on the seasonal peonies Instagram shot, it's something that is overdone to the point where it unconsciously makes you dislike "said thing". Per-se with peonies, I dabbled with one picture into the world of social media- I think that is enough for me.

Without a doubt, the infamous Rockstud shoe a la Valentino, exploded into the fashion world over the past few years. Each editor, blogger, stylist, celebrity, and practically anyone with two feet and is willing to purchase the rockstud is sporting the shoe.

Like the peonies picture, every time you scroll through Instagram or street style, the bloody shoe is there. Personally, the sandal version is quite cool. Alas, here is my one time addition to the profusion of the stud floating through the vast web (courtesy of my mother's shoe closet, who rocks them). Much appreciated, this once.

Take a good look, people. It's the only time the rock stud will be making an appearance. Last show, one night only. I rest my case.

Apologies for the absurd amount of puns here. I couldn't help myself.

Back in Benz

Wearing: Chris Benz jacket (old, similar here), Asos dress, Tory Burch wedges, Bauble Bar ring, Jules Smith choker & Asha by Adm charm

In the midst of an extensive closet clean-out, my mom came across this Chris Benz jacket from 2009  (fun fact, I actually met the designer around the same time). Back then, I used to sport the jacket with pajamas while playing in my mom's closet. My sartorial manner began quite early.

The faded mint color and militaristic details makes this jacket a new favorite. I'm still a massive fan of the designer- his innovative eye always stands out each and every season. Teamed up with lacy espadrilles (ya know to make up for the lacking femininity) and my tried and true lbd- the jacket stands out. Not to mention my make shift hardware of this choker and an Asha by Adm charm, creates a somewhat brand new piece.

Old treasures become new favorites.... or something along the lines of that. You get my drift.

Python

Wearing: Zimmermann shorts (no longer avail.), Equipment blouse, Jack Rogers sandals, Chanel bag, Asha by Adm pendant c/o, Oliver Peoples sunglasses c/o Seaside Luxe

I hope you had a lovely weekend and Easter!

A few months ago, I came across a new level of online shopping; The Dreslyn. To say the least, it might be one of the best curated shops ever. Full of my favorite designers (hey Zimmermann, A.P.C.  Heidi Merrick), I am astonished that I had a some self control when surfing through the site. The two items I did purchase were a grey sweatshirt (worn here) and these Zimmermann shorts which came with me to Anguilla.

I sported silk shorts quite a bit last summer but these have kicked it up a notch. Pairing them with my go-to Equipment blouse that I might wear at least once a week (praise you Equipment) made me feel as if I was wearing sleepwear... for some odd reason, it seems that I am currently into pajama dressing. The python print brought a welcomed change to my usual stripes and solid wardrobe.

BOND

Wearing: J.Brand jeans, Topshop sweater, Mango leather jacket, Mango coat (similar), Celine bag, Alice & Olivia heels (another awesome color), Asha by Adm ring

I am back friends- sorry for being absent around here. I have been down in Florida for a sailing regatta since Wednesday- check out my instagram for some snapshots. Today is the last day and tonight I will be flying home (not too thrilled to leave warm weather). I shot these photos with Lydia last week outside an incredible building on Bond Street. Here I am again wearing my new favorite jacket from Mango. It might be one of my smartest purchases I've ever made. Because it is still Winter (the mini mountains of snow remind us!) it was essential to layer up with a heavy coat and cozy sweater. With all the dark colors, white jeans gave a much needed relief of white to the outfit. The small details like the quilting on the jeans and pop of stripes add interest to an otherwise simple outfit. Enjoy your Sunday!

Whoever said that you can't wear summer pieces in the middle of winter was very very wrong. I purchased these rag & bone jeans this previous summer on super sale at Intermix. They are a little bit edgier than basic white because of the bleached fabric and zippers at the ankles- which are perfect for showing off killer heels. Of course I am wearing head-to-toe blue again. A chunky sweater is one stop layering and ideal on Winter days. My rule on knits- the thicker, the better especially during polar vortexes.

Balance

Equipment blouse | Zara skort (old) | K.Jacques sandals | Samudra clutch | Julie Vos necklace c/o | Asha by Adm necklace c/o | Monica Vinader bracelet | Sloane Ranger bracelet c/o |

Head to toe white is always a breath of fresh air especially in the new year. Hope everyone had a great NYE! To celebrate 2014, I am bringing you a white on white outfit to signify a fresh slate. Anytime I travel, I always bring some of my favorite white pieces to mix and match or to pair together. I picked up this clutch yesterday at La Plage and love the quirky twist it adds to any basic outfit. We spent the evening debating what was on the clutch and finally agreed that it was some abstract shark fin. (:

Eden Rock

Indah dress | K.Jacques sandals | Asha by Adm necklace c/o
| Sloane Ranger bracelet c/o | Monica Vinader bracelet | Tiffany & Co. bracelet

I will never get sick of St.Jean beach and Eden Rock. I've may have lost count of the times I've visited but I discover something new every time  I'm there. Between the loud music coming from Nikki Beach and the waves crashing, the ambiance is the ideal mix. I wore a new purchase from a favorite of mine- Indah. I picked up this dress (or cover-up) for the trip and I'm happy I did. It can translate from a day at the beach or to night with simply a change of shoes. I love the interesting print and the cutouts on the sides and back. I've also been wearing necklaces much more. I tend to stick to daintier ones with personal meanings like the St.Barths pendant from Asha by Adm. Today, we will be heading to another favorite- Saline beach.
