Circle Shades

The round eyewear that became known thanks to the plethora of 60s hippies and one Beatle. Normally not a fan of futuristic fashion that replicates strong Zeon: Girl of the 21st Century vibes, but it is certainly a refreshing change from classic aviators.

I'm not the first to admit that I'd rather not be bug eyed when the sun is shining, yet something about the modern shades, especially when paired with classics- takes norm core to the next planet (see what I did there?)  As for someone who is immensely inspired by the 60s, a simple lens might be more everyday where for me compared to your space age pick.

Never the less, maybe I've come to be all about the Bug's Life meets E.T. for my eyewear. Or maybe I just have watched way too many movies...

A Peek Inside My Room

I have always had a fascination and love for interior design. Over time my room has changed to fit me and my style. Currently, I absolutely love how it looks. I like my room to have a soft, feminine feel but also have quirky details like Polaroids, tons of books, candles, and little odds & ends. Also, check out Pinterest for my latest room inspiration. Let me know if you are interested in seeing more decor posts. (for exact items shown above that you are interested, email me or leave a comment below)

Currently Coveting

This Winter has been quite challenging with the tons of snow in the Northeast. I am very lucky to have escaped some of the snow. I cannot wait for Spring to come- it's my favorite season. I have started to cultivate items I'm coveting for the upcoming season. I had to throw in a few pieces that I can still wear in the snow with boots. For example these camo jeans, and this Alexander McQueen scarf- obsessed. Also, I love printed silky shorts that can also be worn with tights to keep your legs warm now and be worn with strappy sandals (like these gold J.Crew ones) in the Spring and Summer. Lastly, I added fun items such as a yummy candle and lucite decor for my bedroom. Also, I am guest posting about Spring trends for the next month over at GirlsLife!!

Something Blue {and black}

I love a bright cobalt blue, it's one of my favorite colors. The color is very bold, especially when paired with a black. The contrast is vivid and striking. I cannot wait to pick up a piece with the fabulous color combo.

Sloane: When you are not sailing, what do you wear often? How do you describe the way you dress?

Paige:My mother always said to me that I am an athlete and I compete in a mans world, but it is very important to look like a lady. I wear dresses and heels a lot.  When I was younger I was allowed to wear shorts/pants 1 day a week. All of the other days I had to wear dresses or skirts.  I like retro looking clothes, but also the latest fashions. I wear it all, but I like to put a little bit of edge to my look. Right now, I am wearing a hippy looking dress, with a black blazer, black ankle boots, and cool jewelry.

S: When you are on the water, do you bring your style, on the water, if so how?

P:I wish I could! But I am stuck wearing my typical sailing gear. I will try to make it fun by having my nails painted and wearing some crazy color zinc.

S: How do you keen your skin protected on  and off the water?

P:I am very very very crazy about my skin. I have cancerous spots on my lips and have already had 2 cryosurgery procedures on them. You treat your skin completely different after a doctor tells you that you could lose your lips one day if you don't change your habits. When I am out in the sun I wear baby mineral cream. It is very thick and it leaves me looking like a geisha. BUT, it protects my skin from the damages of the sun.

For everyday use I wear a face cream that has SPF 25 in it.  So there's hydration and protection.

S: What influence's your style?

P: I love the website lookbook.nu and I read all of the fashion magazines. My mom has also had a major influence in my fashion. She was this really cool hippy chick back in the day and gives me all of her old clothes and jewelry.
