The September Issue
The clocks strike midnight, and the new season has unofficially started. I won't lie, I do have quite a soft spot for fall- sailing is the best, I'm knee deep in knitwear, and you can't deny that "fall air".
I've completely have converted my worn in flip flops for a pair of loafers and classic kicks. Along with shades of camel, grey, and black- amongst other neutrals- my wardrobe is all set.
Let the games begin.

Weekend Whites
Rich and Skinny jeans // Urban Outfitters sweater (old) // Equipment blouse
// Madewell boots // Vintage sunglasses
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! In New England, the weather was cool and crisp with clear blue skies. It was the last summer weekend. I spent my weekend outside as much I as could soaking it all in. Even though it's after Labor Day, I'm wearing white. Because style rules are meant to be broken. So, don't put your whites away instead pair them with riding boots and chunky knits. I love dressing very classic in the Fall for some reason- check out my Pinterest for some inspo.

Fall Styling // J.Crew Classics Part 2
Caroline and I are back a week later with another fall fashion post! This week we picked the classic utility jacket; one of J.Crew's bestsellers! I recently purchased this jacket, after it was sold out in my size last year. Caroline and I both agree that this jacket is a must for everyone- if you don't dig the navy, there is an olive color.
I'm wearing my favorite Asos dress. I cannot stress the importance of a great LBD. I have worn mine countless ways and it is perfect for as transition piece (like above). To add another light layer, I am wearing a simple Equipment blouse. The jacket adds a little bit of edge with the hardware on it. To finish off the look, neutral booties and a simple bun!
See how we styled the chambray last week! And be sure to check out Caroline's look. We'll be back next week with another post (and giveaway!)

Grunge As It Gets
I was not one to jump on the punk/grunge trend- and I'm still not 100% committed. But, after I found this plaid skirt from Asos, I decided that a little punk couldn't hurt. Surprisingly, the plaid skirt is very versatile; it works with navy, black, blue... you get my point. Here, I'm wearing it with a simple t-shirt and grey loafers. To transition the outfit into Fall one could add a jacket, tights, and ankle boots. Let me know if you are dipping into the "grunge" trend at all or if you are keeping your distance.

Currently Coveting: Ankle Boots
Each season seems there seems to be a new fabulous shoe trend. This fall, it's ankle booties. They are so wearable and comfortable . They can be paired with skinny jeans, from sweater dresses. I love my pair from Shoemint (I have worn them to death). You can still find the perfect pair, and won't break the bank.

Fall Beauty
When you transition from Summer to Fall, you always change your beauty look. For some, its a bold lip, and a swipe of mascara. Others love a heavy eye with flawless face. The weather also changes which means, it's important to keep your skin soft, and healthy.

Classic Fall Days
Last week, I went up to Brown to visit my brother. The weather was the most perfect Fall day. I was inspired my classic Collegiate style. I cannot wait for when we have more of those amazing days.

Currently Coveting: Red Loafers
I love oxfords and loafers! Recently,I was reading The Zoe Report and came across these lovely loafers from Joie. I love the print and Joie shoes are so comfy. Then, I was on Shopbop and found these loafers by Cobra Society. They are much pricer then the first ones, but I like how they are woven and the detailing is amazing! Also, the tribal print is still in for Fall. Both of them are fab, but now I must decide which ones to get!

D.I.Y. for Fall!
I am so excited for Fall! When I was on Pinterest, and came across this decorated pumpkin, I was so happy. I cannot wait to make one myself, I tdecided to create a D.I.Y. for all of you! The DIY is so simple, and all you need is a quick trip to the hardware store.
Supplies:
Pumpkin
Painter's Tape
Spray Paint or Normal Paint (any color, I prefer white)
Step 1: Once you have the perfect pumpkin, using painter's tape, create a zig-zag pattern all around the pumpkin.
Step 2: Next, using either regular paint or spray paint, paint the area that is not covered in paint. Let dry.
Step 3: Peel of the tape.
Step 4: Volia! You have your new pumpkin!
Let me know if you try this Fall DIY!
Keep on Sailing,
Sloane
