Checked Off

Taking a hint from the best minimalist of all and her Philo-isms, sporting culottes in a sea of cutoffs  only seemed to be the right choice. (Did you know culottes meant underwear in French? Oh how I love the irony!) Paired with a great white buttoned a la Wang, it was the perfect spin on the fashion world's norm-core. These Reformation culottes had me locked in with their tomboyish volume, and I knew that I just had to wear them other than the likes of trying them in front of a mirror. The higher waist and unbuttoned button down creates this season's version of a "belt".

Oh and of course you noticed that bling (on my ear). For someone who hasn't worn earrings for a few weeks, it was time to bring some sparkle back.

On the contrary, one thing has gone missing.... #shades?

Refresh

Asos coat, J.Crew beanie, James Jeans, Loeffler Randall bag (old, this season's version),
Equipment blouse, Bauble Bar and Catbird rings

With Spring break on its way it almost feels as if days are much busier and the endless pile of work is becoming bigger. I am so excited to be heading to Rhode Island tomorrow- nothing a little salty air can't fix! Keeping today's post short and sweet, I would just like to remind you all to sometimes stop whatever you are doing and take a moment to refresh. Enjoy you day, friends!

"If living life means I'm crazy, well I'd rather be insane."

One more thing- I tried out a new software for these pictures. I have mixed feelings on them and I sort of like Lightroom more . But, as always do share what you are thinking. x

Right On Track

Wearing: Asos sweater, Club Monaco leggings, Nike sneaks, Equipment blouse, Lora Piana scarf

This past weekend, Mother Nature proved she didn't hate us and brought us a dose of sunshine. Then bam, it's snowing today. Alas, this past weekend gave us a little hope that Spring is on track towards us. On the topic of on track, these Nike kicks have stolen my heart. With my personal style being much more simple nowadays, I am thrilled that sporty style is not going anywhere.

A couple of changes have been happening in my corner of the inter-web. Sometime today, I will be switching my domain over to a .com- My current url will redirect, so you will not be missing any posts! Follow me on twitter for updates regarding the switch.

Balance

Head to toe white is always a breath of fresh air especially in the new year. Hope everyone had a great NYE! To celebrate 2014, I am bringing you a white on white outfit to signify a fresh slate. Anytime I travel, I always bring some of my favorite white pieces to mix and match or to pair together. I picked up this clutch yesterday at La Plage and love the quirky twist it adds to any basic outfit. We spent the evening debating what was on the clutch and finally agreed that it was some abstract shark fin. (:

The Look // My Spin

I was on my tumblr and came across this "cool girl" fall ensemble. I was so inspired by the look and created my own spin on it. While I was writing this post, I spent a little bit on time on the Mango site (where the coat is from). I am pretty much in love with every piece. Especially this dresscoat and shoes. These Jeffery Campbell flats are amazing- they remind me of Miu Miu, but for a fraction of the price.

Leather Edge

I've dabbled with leather a little bit but I am completely smitten with these leggings from Club Monaco. Surprisingly, they can be mixed and match to create many different looks. I kept it classic with a white blouse and navy blazer, essentially letting the pants make the statement.

I  have two announcements to make. Congratulations to Frannie for winning the J.Crew giveaway! Thank you for entering and check Caroline's blog to see the other winner- it could be you. Also, I've joined Tumblr- head to there to see more inspo and daily musings.

Weekend Whites

Rich and Skinny jeans // Urban Outfitters sweater (old) // Equipment blouse
// Madewell boots // Vintage sunglasses

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! In New England, the weather was cool and crisp with clear blue skies. It was the last summer weekend. I spent my weekend outside as much I as could soaking it all in. Even though it's after Labor Day, I'm wearing white. Because style rules are meant to be broken. So, don't put your whites away instead pair them with riding boots and chunky knits. I love dressing very classic in the Fall for some reason- check out my Pinterest for some inspo.

Not So Basic

Equipment blouse // J.Crew skirt (in store) / Tory Burch heels (similar style) // Bauble Bar necklace
// Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses //

I was doing a little bit of Fall shopping at Madewell and J.Crew and came across this simple a-line  skirt. It's a chic staple piece that can be worn all year round in many different ways. If you have been reading fashion blogs this past Spring and Summer, you may have seen the "trend" black and white everywhere. Personally, I don't think black and white is a trend, but instead a simple and chic color combo. I decided to wear the B&W look with a white blouse and throw in fun accessories for a not so basic look.

Speaking of J.Crew my blogger bud, Caroline from citrus & style and I are collaborating this Fall to bring you some stylish outfits showcasing our favorite pieces from J.Crew! We are so thrilled for the series and we hope you will enjoy it!

Bleached

Rebecca Taylor Shorts // Equipment Blouse // Clare Viver Clutch // Vince Heels // A.V. Max Cuff via Lemon Stripes // Loren Hope Link Bracelet // Hermes Bracelet // Bauble Bar Studded Bracelet // Assorted Rings from Catbird and Bauble Bar // Essie"Figi"// Ray-Ban Sunglasses

Yesterday was such a busy yet fun day! In the morning I played tennis- trust me I'm not that good. Then off to the city for a nice afternoon/evening. I went to the Stripes & Sequins x Bauble Bar party in Soho for some shopping and crafts! It was so nice meeting Grace and diy-ing! Bauble Bar's pop-up shop is so fun- I recommend a visit if you have the chance. Afterward, I went to Momofuku Milk Bar and picked up some yummy cookies. What is your favorite cookie/sweet from Momofuku? I ended the day with shopping at the Kate Spade Saturday Window-Shop! Might be the coolest way to shop!

I wore my new favorite shorts from Rebecca Taylor. I love the bleached look they have- the fit is also really nice! I kept the look simple and easy with some of my favorite items-Clare Viver clutch and Vince shoes. Be sure to check back later this week to see the pieces I picked up from Bauble Bar and the fun DIY project I created!

Summer Uniform

Equipment Shirt (last one here) // Zara Shorts // Rebecca Minkoff Sandals (similar
// Julie Vos Necklace c/o // Clare Vivier Clutch // Brandy Melville Rings- in stores //

As of late, silk shorts have been a staple in my closet. I can tell you, this look will most definitely be my summer uniform for when I need to look causal yet put-together. I am in love with my new Zara shorts- the print comes in multiple colors that are all perfect for Summer. White blouses are such a great item too. I wish I could tell you how many outfits I have worn where a white blouse is present- see here, here, and here. My hair is also changes a little bit in the summer. It becomes more wavy and natural. Expect some fun hairstyles in posts to come.

Schoolboy Blazer

One of my favorite items in my closet is my Crewcuts Boy Blazer. I received this blazer as a gift in 2009, way before I started blogging. Even though I was only ten, I felt so chic wearing my new blazer with jeans and my sparkly Crewcuts shirt. I always have been interested in fashion from wearing my Mom’s black strappy Chanel shoes that were three sizes too big to admiring the latest cover girls on Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Flash forward to February 2010, the last year that New York Fashion Week was held at Bryant Park. I was very fortunate to attend the Tommy Hilfiger show. I wore the Crewcuts blazer with a navy bubble skirt, a navy t-shirt, and my black ballet flats. I felt so chic in the blazer. It was such an amazing opportunity to attend the show and sit across from the legendary Anna Wintour.
I still wear my Crewcuts blazer. Surprisingly, it still fits me. The memories that have come along with the blazer are what is most special to me. I will always love my navy blazer.
To add a little Spring flair to my look, I paired my new cap-toe flats with basic jeans. A bright blue button down keeps the look colorful.
